This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Target participants: Workers or community members who have not completed Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, people who have not completed Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for some time or people seeking annual requalification, who may be required to provide a cardiopulmonary resuscitation response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
The face to face training is 3.0 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement.
Duration: 3 hours face to face training
Online learning required for participants without previous current certificate
Certificate recommended renewal period : 12 months
Prerequisites: min. age 14 yrs
Physical Requirements: In order to issue an accredited certificate, CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.
