Health and Safety Representatives - ACT Jurisdiction
HSRACT
This course conforms to the provisions of the ACT Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and includes a balanced content of theory and class participation. This will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to perform the role and responsibilities of a workplace health & safety representative.
Health and Safety Representatives are elected or chosen to represent the interests of a particular work group on a range of health and safety issues. The PARASOL HSR Course provides all of the skills and knowledge required by a HSR to carry out their legislative functions. A HSR is not able to exercise all of their powers if they have not completed a course of training approved by WorkSafe ACT.
The training is primarily designed for those participants who are elected as ACT work safety representatives and who may not have previously been exposed to the legal and industrial requirements of Occupational Health and Safety.
Initial 5 day training course must be completed within 6 months
HSR’s are entitiled, under legislation, to select their own approved training provider
